Excreted into human milk: Unknown Excreted into animal milk: Data not available Comments:-The effects in the nursing infant are unknown.-Because of its low molecular weight, excretion into breast milk is expected. Marplan (isocarboxazid) should not be administered to any patient with a confirmed or suspected cerebrovascular defect or to any patient with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or history of headache. Contraindicated Patient Populations Hypersensitivity. Marplan should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to isocarboxazid. Isocarboxazid may result in drowsiness or dizziness and the treated patient should use caution while driving or operating machinery while taking isocarboxazid until the effects of the drug are known. The patient should also be warned about the possibility of hypotension and faintness.
